Ferdinand Hippolyte LALAISSE (Nancy 1812 - Paris 1884) "Male figure with hammer and anvil" Original lithograph from a drawing by Lalaisse himself for the album entitled "Cours Spécial de Dessin" printed and published by the Monrocq Frères publishing house in Paris after 1860. Nice specimen with some small traces of slight foxing and some spots in the upper part, overall in good general condition. Hippolyte Lalaisse, painter, draftsman and lithographer, was a pupil of Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet (1792-1845) and from 1839 to 1877 he taught drawing at the École Polytechnique in Paris, he is known in particular for military and horse subjects. Bibliography: Benezit "Dictionnaire des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs et Graveurs" Paris 1976 vol.6 page 392.
